Create VM instances for VMware Server in Windows

1. Download the VMware server
1.First download VMware server. Before download you need to register to get serial number, Without serial number you cannot install.
2.Follow the installation procedure and install the VMware server.

2. Create the hardware
1.Start VMware Workstation
2.Go to New> Virtual Machine.
3.Click Next.
4.For "Wizard type", choose "Custom". Click Next.
5.For "Name", enter a valid name. Click Next.
6.For "Datastore", accept the default and Click Next.
7.For "Guest Operating System", choose "Microsoft Windows", and for "Version" choose appropriate version. Click Next.
8.For "Name", enter a valid name. "Location" will autofill.
9.For "Number of virtual processors", accept the default: "One". Click Next.
10.For "Memory", accept the default: "256 MB". Click Next.
11.For "Network", accept the default NICS "1" and choose "Network address translation (NAT)". Click Next.
12.For "I/O Adapter Types", accept the default "LSI Logic". Click Next.
(If you find this does not work in your installer, start again, and choose BusLogic.)
13.For "Select a Disk", accept the default "Create a new virtual disk". Click Next.
14.For "Disk Capacity", accept the default size of "8.0 GB", and accept the default option "Split disk into 2 GB files". Click Next.
15.For "Advanced Options", accept the default. Click Next amd Click Finish.
(If you find this does not work for you in your installer, and you have tried both SCSI adaptor types, start again, and choose IDE here.)

3. Install the Operating System
1.Go to File> Open and find the VM you just created.
2.For that VM, choose "Edit settings".
3.For the CD-ROM drive, tick "Connected", and "Use ISO image:", browse to the ISO image of the operating system you wish to install(First check out if you can find storage info Configuration \ Storage Adapters. After you find it there go to Configuration \ Storage and "add storage" where you want ISO files and VMs will reside.
When you did it, go to Summary page and take a look under Datastores (on right side), if you can see your datastore there, right click on it, select "browse datastore" and thats it.
After that you have button for upload/download files or folders from yoour local computer or from network share). Click OK.
4.Power on the virtual machine using the "Power On" button.
5.Your VM will boot from the ISO you selected.
6.You must run through the installer as usual. Remember: if it has problems with finding a disk to install on, follow the notes above (try a different SCSI controller, and as a last resort try IDE).

4. Restart VM server.
